I finally decided to have the carpal tunnel surgery. Well, it was a last resort because everything else I had done stopped working for me. The pain was getting pretty bad and getting to the point where the pain was traveling into my elbows. It only got worse this year. I have had carpal tunnel over 10 years. It all started back in 2009 working for a major retailed in New Jersey, now I am currently in Florida. I loved my job I helped wherever was needed. Until one fateful morning I was asked to hop on register. Instead of asking for help I went to lift this heavy box on and felt like something popped in my hand. I thought I broke my wrist cause this bulge (I thought was a bone) was sticking out. I did what I had to do and I get over to the workmen’s comp doctor and sure enough the doctors does x-rays and comes to the conclusion that I had a cyst in my wrist. The doctor told me that there was an easy way of getting rid of the cyst and that there was an old fashion way of doing it. That man wanted to take a Bible and hit me with it. I of course said no to that cause well it was not professional. After all that and physical therapy they decided to surgically remove it. When they removed the cyst, it caused carpal tunnel issues since then. I have done everything from cortisone shots and therapy it was all temporary fixes not permanent. Now in 2023 I am having to do surgery in both my hands. My right hand is completed with some stiffness. I am now scheduled to have surgery October 12 which is in just about two week. Recovery they said can take up to 6 to 12 months for my full strength to come back. I’ll take that though cause I can now sleep without the pain waking me up in the middle of the night.
