As the summer heat begins to fade and the leaves start to change color, we find ourselves at the end of another chapter: August. It’s a time for reflection, celebration, and preparation for what lies ahead. In this article, I will discuss how I am ending August on a high note and looking ahead to the new beginnings that September will bring.
Reflecting on August: Ending on a High Note
August has been a month filled with challenges, triumphs, and unexpected twists and turns. It’s important to take a moment to think about all that you have accomplished, no matter how big or small. Did you reach a personal goal? Did you take steps towards better health and wellness? Celebrate these victories and give yourself the credit you deserve.
I have lost 49 pounds by sticking to my diet, watching everything that I eat. I am moving around more, especially at work since I do have a desk job. I park further away from the door when I go the stores, just so I can get extra steps in. Celebrated my daughter turning 7 years old and got to watch her drive a go-kart by herself.
My health is getting there. Underwent surgery back on the August 29 to have level 1 Melanoma removed out of my shoulder. So far doing well with recovery. Still sore wasn’t expecting the area being over 1 inch long. But I am already scheduled for my next skin check and that is not until November fingers crossed we don’t have any more issues.
Looking Ahead to September: New Beginnings
As September unfolds, it’s time to set new goals, make new plans, and embrace new opportunities. This month is going to be a time of transformation, renewal, and self-discovery. What do I hope to achieve in September? What new goals do I want to achieve? How many more pounds do I want to lose?
One important aspect of September that I am not overlooking and that is taking care of my health. Regular skin checks every three months due to melanoma risks can help detect any abnormalities early on. I am investing in myself. Not only my health, but my mental health as well. Making sure I am getting plenty of rest, eating nourishing foods for my body just all-around better care for my own well-being.
I am still working on my confidence and self-esteem. I am working on setting realistic goals and challenging myself to try new things. I am still working on my weight. I have another 15 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. I am continuing to try new foods and new exercises to incorporate into my new lifestyle so I can keep the weight off.
In conclusion, as I bid farewell to August and move towards September, let’s end this chapter on a high note. Reflecting on achievements, set new goals, and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Remembering to focus on my health, build confidence, and continue working towards personal goals. September is a month of new beginnings, so I am making the most of it and keep moving ahead towards a happier, healthier me.
